I have a Dutch Shepherd that loves to chew. She loves the small Chuck-it balls so I thought I would give the larger ball a try, but I really expected her to destroy it within a few minutes. Surprisingly, it's still going strong and remains completely intact a couple months after I gave it to her. She loves to grab it and shake her head and throw it herself. It's much more durable than I expected.A little too easy to chew pieces out where the dogs usually grab these balls right at the thinnest area, but nevertheless these balls are great fin. Have 2 of them and they have been going strong for a month. Would give 5 stars if some of the surface area where the most biteing is expected would be a bit more sturdy and reinforced. My 7yo mixed breed loves her ChuckIt ball but unfortunately has contributed to a premature weardown of her upper and lower k9 teeth. My vet compares the ball’s material to sandpaper. I’ve been purchasing Chuckits for four years and she’s not a chewer. Overall I love this ball. It floats, kicks well, and returns to shape after getting run over by a car! I’ve experienced all the same concerns as others, they tear at the logo, the oranges are much more durable than the greens, and they last anywhere from five to ten months. Out of an abundance of caution though, I’m no longer purchasing them for my dog’s health. This is the best fetch ball I have found for my German Shepherd. She loves to play fetch but would bite through her other balls and tear pieces out of them. This ball is lightweight so it's easy to throw, it bounces and is holding up very well with her biting and returning it. She loves this ball!I made the mistake to let my dog play with it alone and he pulled some lose strings and destroyed the whole thing, don't let them use it as a CHEW toy, it's only to play fetch, and for that I would recommend. not for anything else. This is my border collies favorite toy. He carries it with him everywhere, inside and outside. The grooves are great with giving him something to hold on to. It eventually comes apart, but lasts for a very long time, considering the rough treatment it gets. I would say it definitely worth the price. Our golden retriever puppy LOVES this ball. She has the larger one but it’s still a bit big for her. This one is the right size not to big that she can’t get it in her mouth but small enough to carry it around and play fetch. If you have a dog that’s a chewer this is the ball for them.My aussie puppy is obsessed with this ball. She will literally cry by the door and immediately run outside and grab it. I like that the design makes it easy for her to catch it and bring it back. I knocked off a star because it wasn't particularly durable (lasted a couple weeks and started losing pieces). I'll probably buy another because my dog loves it so much, but I just wish it were a bit more durable. My French bulldog loves this. She loves to chase football's after we kick them. She doesn't play with small balls at all. I got this as it wouldn't be too hard for us to kick and could still be played with in the house. I wasn't sure on the size so got this so she could pick it up in her mouth. I have tried to take a photo so you can see the size in comparison.Bought this for our 1 year old border collie as he loves the Chuck it rubber balls (Large) and they survive his play unlike other balls tennis style or otherwise that tend to get peeled. However this was systematically destroyed with the orange woven fabric cover sliced into and the foam contents being masticated very soon after. The only bit that seemed to be sufficiently rugged were the blue plastic / rubbery like pieces of the ball. I would estimate that he had the ball for about 20 minutes prior to us removing it as the orange woven fabric was everywhere and had got stuck around some of his teeth. Dann macht es mal gut.I swear by the small chuckit balls as being the only balls our little jug (jack russell/pug) can’t destroy and he loves them. Spent over £20 on this and it has lasted under two hours and he is through it. Don’t waste your money like I did. This large ball is fantastic in so many ways. It is big enough to kick (from a drop kick) and the design allows you to easily grip it and throw. Our dog (20kg Kelpie X) really loves it and will chase it all day if I was prepared to do that!!In fact he l loves it so much that it only really lasts about 3 months as the teeth eventually penetrate the canvas outer skin and then the foam interior will disintegrate. However deterioration typically occurs after about 30 hours of hard use so the ball cost is equivalent to about £1/hr. Some might consider it expensive but I think it serves its purpose and is a value proposition (just) I am on my third ball now.
