Product Description

The KONG-shaped Wobbler is an action-packed treat and food dispensing toy. It sits upright until pushed by a dog’s paw or nose and then periodically dispenses tasty rewards as it wobbles, spins and rolls. The unpredictable movement keeps the toy challenging, even for seasoned Wobbler users. The Wobbler can also be used as an alternative to a dog bowl to help slow and extend mealtime while providing exercise for your dog. Unscrews for easy filling and cleaning. Covered by KONG Satisfaction Guarantee. See KONG Satisfaction Guarantee document below for full details.

My puppy inhales her meals within seconds so we have been using snuffle mats and a treat dispensing ball to feed her meals. She has quickly "solved" the snuffle mats so they do not slow her gobbling down enough. The rubbery green treat dispensing ball (Starmark) was perfect for slowing her eating; however, it takes FOREVER to load a cup of kibble into the hole by hand (as my puppy is barking impatiently for 10 minutes for her dinner). Three times a day of this, and, well ... you can understand the frustration all the way around. We were seeking a treat dispenser that was difficult enough, easy to load and easy to clean. This one seems to fit the bill, although the hole is very large and now that she has figured it out, it takes her much less time to empty it than the treat dispensing ball. We tried putting a tennis ball into the toy with the kibble, but didn't see much difference. Also, for those with anxious puppies who bark in frustration at anything new like ours ... we put a little peanut butter on the hole to try to lure her to touch it and then we literally had to get down on the floor with her for 5 minutes and show her how to knock the thing over. It is pretty big for a 40lb puppy (we got the largest). This is our second one. This + frozen rubber kongs are our primary means of feeding our dog. We don't use a food dish. The wobbler is working great for our now 2 year old, 60 lb. lab. Our first one eventually got destroyed. At age 1, she chewed on the toy pretty aggressively if not closely monitored. We still used it for almost a year, but had to watch it closely. Eventually she chewed a hole through the top, so we had to replace it. At age two, this is a lot less of a problem. Now she is rolling it around as designed rather than gnawing on it or picking it up and dropping it. So as long as there is food coming out, it's surviving. We still have to be sure to take it away when it's empty. We bought the medium size; possibly the larger size would have been harder to chew or carry around, but it just seemed too big.We were originally concerned that the hole dispensing the kibble was too large and would let out too much food too fast, but it actually worked fine. We usually load it with about 1/2 cup of kibble and it lasts about 10 minutes, maybe a little longer. We had also bought another brand with an adjustable hole size, but the Kong wobbler works better.I gave it four stars because the hard plastic top is not very durable if you have a heavy chewer and don't watch it really closely; if the very top portion was made of the regular rubber kong material instead of just hard plastic, it would be perfect. We use these all the time at the animal shelter for dogs that are TOO DANG SMART to be there and they love them so much I bought my own dog one. Great alternative to slow feeding bowls! It’s a fun game that takes more than twice as long as her slow feeder, great enrichment for mind and soul :))My dog really like to play, so I thought this would keep her busy. Some friends have them, and their dogs love getting the treats out of them. My dog is still working on figuring it out. She does love her regular Kong toy. I shove a small biscuit and a chunk of beggin strip into it and she is busy for almost a half hour.Got the small size for my 20 lbs Dachshund/Beagle mix. Took a few days for her to figure it out, but she now seems to love it. The size is just right for her to maneuver it for treats and big enough so that she doesn’t chew on it. Also, she easily carries it away from an obstacle by hooking a tooth into the treat dispensing hole. She‘s pretty much mastered the challenge, so it’s under 10 minutes of entertainment (for me). However, I think she must enjoy it because she returns it to me hoping for a refill (which she sometimes gets). It‘ll probably be a while, but I would definitely purchase another one when needed. We have a 4 month old Australian shepherd puppy that has endless energy. If we could play for 10 hours, he would play for 10 hours. After a long day at work, playing for 5 hours until it's time to go to bed isn't our top priority. If we aren't playing with him or watching him, he will get into trouble. This thing is great! It keeps his attention and let's him play on his own. I did make the hole a little smaller though so I could use our regular dog food instead treats made for this thing. It also made it a little more difficult for him, which keeps him going for longer.I have a border collie in an apartment and she needs some mental exercise after our 7 hour walks :). This is great and she likes it. It moves around so it’s good to keep her moving. She does get it lost under something’s and it drives her crazy in the best way, other than that she loves it!It’s awesome! I’m able to put in kibble for my pup and she wears herself out trying to get it out. She gets her meal and gets to play! I can’t fill it up too much otherwise it doesn’t topple over, but so far that hasn’t been much of a problem.Absolutely brilliant!Solid construction, simplicity itself to use and clean - and the dogs LOVE IT!We bought one each of these for our two dogs and it's just so funny to watch them work out how to get their treats out. After a couple of goes they both adopted completely different techniques. One bats it around the kitchen floor as a game and he pounces on the treats as they fall out. The other dog takes it into the corner of her bed and taps it over in a much more controlled way. Kind of reflects both dogs' characters, hilarious. We bought the 'small' size - which is still pretty big. Perfect size for our fairly large Springer-cross (the size of a small Labrador) and Cockerpoo.Probably one of the best toy/treat purchases we've ever made for our dogs - and pretty much indestructible.:)Best toy I've got for the two! They'll spend ages with them instead of trashing through the house whilst play fighting (Both got a lot of energy even after long walks).Durable (the GSD picks it up every now and then and throws it on the floor...that works on the normal Kongs to get the treats out so she tries the same trick with this). Not too easy to get the treats out when using the right sized treats. I use mixtures of sizes to keep it interesting for them. All in all. Love it.Originally reviewed 21 August 2018 and now an update 26.05.2019:One of them manages to unscrew the toy but it doesn't happen often. She however did chew on the top bit a little but knowing her, she put some serious effort in it and still didn't manage to completely destroy it. The two parts sti'll screw in and toy works fine (Now I just know which one is Ripleys :)Both get their morning activity treats after their walk in these and they are part of our morning routines.Brilliant idea, however, my staffie has had this less than 10 minutes and it already has deep grooves from her teeth and the plastic has cut her mouth. Luckily I was watching her and I've removed the Wobbler before any serious damage was caused to her.So for me personally a waste of money and what could have been a very expensive trip to the vet.For those who can use it, I think it will be lots of fun but if you have a dog that can really chew I'd advise against buying this and just put the treats/food in a normal Kong xxxI bought this for my large Labrador to have both his breakfast and his dinner in. It is a great toy and dry food dispenser, and he absolutely loves playing with this, and chasing his meal around the house or the garden! it is strong and durable, hygienic and easy to clean, and allows greedy or food orientated dogs to spend more time on eating, without the fear of them choking on their food in haste. The only downside for me is, I think it is a shame it is not made of rubber, or is rubber coated, as this would protect indoor furniture from being bumped or scratched, would prevent the toy from becoming scratched, and would minimise noise levels! I do find it a little tricky at times to screw and unscrew the toy, and I have hurt my wrist after having tried to unscrew it after previously screwing it up tighter than I thought, so perhaps this might also be easier if it was made of rubber To provide better grip…? otherwise a really great product, fun, and a healthy and practical feeding And rewarding aid!I like this overall, like every Kong dog toy I've tried. I'm surprised it doesn't stay upright more; my pup knocks it on its side and just rolls it a lot, which means that the treats do come out more quickly than intended. Still, it rights itself eventually, and maybe that variety helps too. Would have been good if the dispensing hole was adjustable for different sizes of treat, but it's really just for kibble despite the "treat dispensing toy" title. Also would have liked some indentation or texturing so it's easier to grip and unscrew. It can get stuck closed, and be hard to open. But not really a problem unless you've arthritis or something like that, I suppose. If you do, maybe think again about this particular product.
