Product Description The KONG Dental rubber dog toy is designed for cleaning teeth and gums while giving an appropriate chewing outlet and supporting a dog's instinctual needs. Made out of KONG Classic's unique natural red rubber formula, the KONG Dental toy has grooves that help clean teeth. Stuff the inside of the grooves and the toy with your dog's favorite treats for added enjoyment. Want to extend your dog's chew time? Stuff with KONG Snacks™ and entice with a dollop of KONG Easy Treat™. Covered by KONG Satisfaction Guarantee. See KONG Satisfaction Guarantee document below for full details. Amazon.com Dental health is just as important for pets as it is for people, but it's a rare dog that likes getting his teeth brushed. This fun, versatile chew combines the functions of a treat dispenser, toothbrush, and classic fetch toy, all in one. Made from the same super-tough, puncture-resistant natural rubber as classic Kongs, its patented grooved design "squeegees" teeth and gums clean as dogs chew, helping prevent plaque and tartar buildup (not to mention bad breath). Use Kong Breath Paste inside the grooves to motivate your dog to chew and freshen his breath at the same time. Shaped like a bone, Kong dental toys have a hollow interior just made for stuffing with treats or biscuits. Extracting the contents is work that can keep dogs happy and busy for hours, helping prevent boredom, separation anxiety, and related behavior problems like barking, digging, or chewing shoes. Measuring 6-1/2 inches long, the extra-large size is intended for dogs weighing more than 50 pounds, from German shepherds on up to mastiffs and Saint Bernards. As with all Kong toys, supervision is recommended when first giving a new plaything to your pet. Regularly inspect the toy and replace if damaged. Satisfaction is guaranteed; if either you or your dog aren't happy with your purchase, return within 30 days for a full refund. --Mary Park

We have two giant breeds and, while not pitbulls, they really like to work on a toy for about 30 min straight. Most other "tough" toys have lasted a few days until they find it's weak spot and chew off pieces. They have had a couplee of these for almost 6 months and they are still in decent shape. We would have gone through a dozen of the other types in this time.I belieeve part of the reason for it's longevity is the shape. It big enough that it's difficult to really get a ton of pressure on it. It's also hollow so it will give a bit which I believe makes it satisfying without losing it structure. BTW, the LARGE one is pretty big (I'd say you need a lab sized dog for thee LG). The XL is huge, more suited for a Great Dane, Mastiff, etc. I've never put food inside it so that might make a dog more aggressive on it but mine give it a good chewing and have only scrapped off a very tiny bit but no chucks.I've also got some of the old traditional Kongs that have lasted forever but my dogs like this shape better. I highly recommend the large kong for most breeds.Great product for dogs. Sturdy, safe, interactive, and fun. This was a fun addition to our Pibbles' distraction toys. It bounces randomly, and it's small enough to allow them to grab it with their teeth or paws, and then take it somewhere for thorough chewing and licking. Unfortunately, that's frequently on our beds! ;)Great product, good price, prompt delivery. Thanks for a good transaction. It is great for throwing and bounces everywhere. We love it. Thanks Kong!My daughter's 2 puppies have managed to chew through (& ingest pieces!) all previous toys labeled for "aggressive chewer" big dogs. Kongs are the only chew toys she now lets them have without constant, direct supervision.Has held up to heavy duty chewing for a couple of months now. There has been no breakdown of the toys' structure. We love this and our dog does, too. Super durable. We have a super chewer pitbull and she has yet to get any pieces off of it. But it is also soft enough that it isn't destroying her teeth. 5 stars from us.This was for my 2-year old lab; labs love to carry toys or balls and this is easy for him to carry. When playing it bounces unpredictably which makes it fun for the dog. It is good for dental and chewing, and holds treats. I used a small amount of peanut butter and freeze it, which keeps him occupied in a calm manner. Kong toys are durable, although with a "chewer", they all eventally crack--mine last about 8-12 months with daily, constant use.My dog (which destroys virtually everything) still hasn't been able to chew this into pieces. Kong normally do make strong products and I would recommend this for large/ extra large sized dogs. Beware if throwing in house as it is very heavy and could break something. When it arrived the plastic was a bit whitish (the look you get on out of date chocolates). I wonder if it had been stored somewhere really cold. I guess this is ok as it is only going going to be chewed but if I were in the actual shop I wouldn't have bought it due to it not looking so nice. I've given it a 2 as so far the dog is not that interested. Having said that he is spoilt and has loads of toys to choose from. Usually dog loves kong stuff and I generally love kong stuff too as the dog (Labrador) has only managed to destroy 1 out of a total of 9 kong toys. This product is excellent. To use this we put her dry food in water for about an hour, mash it down then put it inside the kong. Takes about 3 kongs to feed our retriever so a great way to feed her. A must have! Not fit for purpose. Our Lab' already had bits off the top and split the body within 10 minutes of its arrival. How this can be sold as a dental chew toy is an enigma! Only a real softy of a dog would not have this in bits in no time. Nothing like as hard wearing or long lasting as the original Kong and for a product bearing the Kong name an utter disappointment. My dog loves his kongs but I find it hard to find treats big enough to stay in this (I refuse to pay for the Kong ones!) as the holes in the end are massive so my usual 'plug it with peanut butter' trick doesn't work. It's also really heavy so my dog prefers the lighter ones which bounce all over the place when thrown.
