I have spent 12 years on and off trying unsuccessfully to find a healthy dry kibble my Chihuahua would eat. Super finicky eater. Plus, being older he has lost quite a few teeth and the few he has left aren't in the best shape. Figured at this point he probably wouldn't eat any kibble due to the teeth issue even if he wasn't already picky. But I wanted something he could snack on during the day while I'm at work and this sounded like a good, healthy option so figured why not just give it a try. I hand fed him a couple of kibbles successfully then stood back to see what he'd do. I'll be darned if he didn't approach his bowl and start chowing down!!! I couldn't believe it and am absolutely thrilled! The kibble is super tiny so he has no issues eating it even with the few bad teeth he has left, and it must taste good because he ate quite enthusiastically. I am so pleased I finally found something he likes and will definitely be buying this from now on!I just adopted a rescue three weeks ago and the rescue group told me this is what he eats. Rather than changing his food, this is the one I bought. At first he wasn’t eating, but that was because he was frightened going to another strange place. However, after a couple days, he began eating and now sits waiting for his meals.Reading the ingredients, I am pleased with the quality and nutritional value. The kibble is quite small, but he only weighs 11 pounds so it’s good for him. Overall, I have no qualms feeding my new family member this food.We have had our Bischon-Poo mix for about 3 years, got her when she was almost a year old. She has never really cared to eat. Turned up her nose at more food than she has eaten! We have tried several varieties of dry dog food as well as some canned varieties. The only way we have gotten her to eat, sometimes only one meal a day instead of two, was to add canned food to her dry dog food, but not always successfully. Some days she just would not eat anything at all! That is until we tried this Ultra Dog Food. We introduced it to her with a bit of canned dog food to see if she would eat this. We are now on our second bag and have been amazed.....she eats it with a little water added only, no other food additives. So I strongly recommend this food if you have a picky eater. We have been amazed! Thank you for easing meal times for our picky princess (and me too!)After realizing I was feeding my girls kinda crappy food, I did a bit of research and choose this for my old biddy toddler dogs(Chihuahua sisters) because the healthy ingredients and small size. We're all totally loving it!Where they picked at their previous food, the devour this! They are also looking healthier with nice shiney coats and bright eyes. I'm so so happy with this food despite it being quite a lot more than food we were feeding them.Two thumbs and paws up! Totally recommend it to anyone!This is a review of the Adult *Toy Breed* High Protein Natural Dry Dog Food with Chicken, Salmon & Lamb. Easy 5 stars. This is based on the size of the kibbles (super small!) and the way my little pup is responding after some time on the food. Superseded expectations.I have a tiny Pom with special needs. He can no longer eat unassisted due to an extremely rare neurological condition; unfortunately this condition also makes it hard for him to chew. He has to be hand fed and syringe-bottle fed, but even with the best of our efforts its been hard to keep his weight up to par.That's when I went into research mode to seek out the most nutrient rich food while also looking for the smallest pellets I could find. Then I ordered a couple "finalists" to try. They are all decent, but this seems like the clear winner.These particular Nutro "Toy Breed" kibbles are tiny enough that my 3.5 lb boy can swallow them whole, no problem. In the past, he has thrown up kibbles (system eject), which is also why I was extra investigative before trying dry food with him again. he is able to keep this down and it appears he is putting on some weight! Just what we wanted.Added bonus: since we started this food, his digestive system seems to be working better; more regular, which is quite a "relief" from some prior issues. Could be the flaxseed or chia seed... whatever it is, it has made his life a little easier.I love they there are nutritious whole foods included within the ingredients, as well a few supplemental vitamins. My other Poms eat Hills Science Diet and after comparing the two ingredients, I think this Nutro food will be included as part of the staple.Fingers crossed the manufacturer doesn't change up the formula. This really seems to be working for us.We have a 5lb partially disabled Maltese we rescued at 8 yrs old. He was fed table scraps popcorn etc & we had to get him on a healthy diet. We started, unfortunately, with Stella & Chewies freeze dried which he took to, but cost a relative fortune. When the vet said he could also eat kibble & recommended this food, we were relieved to see him easily make the switch. The food cost went way down and he's as happy as ever.The ingredient description in the picture does not have pea protein Yet when you scroll down ingredients are listed again - in this description pea protein is listed. I don't want pea protein. I went by the ingredients listed in the picture - no pea protein. The product I received had pea protein.I liked the size of the chunks and it was an easy transition from that other brand that has a color in their brand, which I thought would not be easy to replace. My dog was sick at the time I ran out of the other brand but she never flinched or sniffed the wrong way. It was actually a good thing, because she was not eating at the time, due to having had surgery and taking antibiotics, so I am very happy with it!!!My poor dog got soo sick from this dog food . Started loosing hair and had a big sore and redness .. It looked as if the dog food had been re sealed when I was trying to open it .. Something is very fishy about the packaging. Very upset
