I purchased this in 2019. This year the grate floor fell apart, I contacted the company but they do not offer a replacement grate. It is temporarily held together with zip ties while I find a new cage.We only have a medium sized husky mix, but she was quickly outgrowing "large" crates. we noticed she would get separation anxiety and would become panicky when she would have to stay in these smaller crates, because there was no room for her to move around. With this new XXL crate, could probably fit 4 medium huskies inside! No more separation anxiety, no more panic, she's totally calm in there. When we have to leave the house for a couple hours and we cant leave her in the backyard...due to snow..etc, this crate becomes "nap time" for her.We have a large rug in there, (I used the gorilla grip chenille rug 60x36 on amazon...easy to toss in the wash!)as well as extra pet beds and multiple toys. We even tied a fake blond wig to the crate so she can play tug of war with this "strange blond animal." Toss in a couple chewy sticks and she's in heaven! She loves her crate so much, we catch her just crawling in there randomly throughout the day for a nap and sometimes she leaves the bedroom at night just to sleep in there alone. This crate is sturdy and built really well. The only thing you might want to do is to upgrade the latch if your dog jumps and shakes the crate a lot. Our dog basically naps in here, so we never had the need to upgrade the latch. The crate has good directions, and it was easy enough to install, we love that its on wheels and we sometimes move it into other rooms. Just be aware of how very large this crate actually is, we sometimes get wild looks when people see it, they assume we have some massive wolf prowling around the house. Nope, we just love our medium sized dog a whole lot!Loved that my dog couldn’t break out of it and love that it opens 2 ways. Easy to clean. I couldn’t give it 5 stars because the paint started to chip like ALOT all over the cage which made it rust really easily and within a year. But it’s still sturdy and durable and I’ve had it for 3 years.I have a 12 year old german shepard/sharpei. He recently developed horrible anxiety over storms. He began pulling the molding and vents off doors, pulling up carpet and running the house in a panic. I tried some medication that the vet gave me but it did not help and had to be given about an hour before the storm. I cant do that at work. I bought this crate hoping it would help, but before it got here, the dog flooded the house attempting to get behind the toilet. After the crate arrived, I left the door open and he would go in and out fine. he would sleep in it. i closed the door and left him in it while i was home to see how he was. he was fine. the FIRST day i went to work, he pulled the bars out of the front door on it. the latches held but the bars were bent and pulled out. The seller says they will resend the front panel and i have another visit to the vet. i may have chosen the wrong style for his level of anxiety.I bought this one because it looked sturdy and impenetrable, and I am sure it is for an average dog. This was the third crate in my quest to contain my pooch. She has defeated each one. She first unlocked and climbed out the top, so I put a lock on the top door. She next slid the floor out of place and took the crate down two stairs and wriggled out the bottom, so I zip-tied the floor to the crate. She chewed off the zip-ties and pushed the floor out and walked around in the crate like it was a giant hamster ball because it's so maneuverable. The brakes were on each time she moved it. I have given up. ??♀️??♀️ If anyone has suggestions, I'm eager to hear them.I have 50 pound Greyhound who has anxiety when we are not home. She destroyed her old wire kennel. So far she hasn't been able to make a dent in this one. The front latches suck like everyone else said. She found out how to lift them up and open her door within the first two days. I tried the clasps people suggested and they worked for a week now she chews them in one day. Im going to have to get a chain like one of the reviewers photo. The wire bottom isn't too comfortable and she didn't seem to like it so I had to insert a metal tray I had on top.She managed to cut her nose real bad one day on the cage. It was pretty deep and left a scar. I think she was trying to lift the latches and did it. After she got the cut she hasn't tried to unlatch the front. My puppy was exposed to some form of wildlife and has to be under house quarantine, so we purchased quite a bit of caging and fences on Amazon. This arrived in about a week and was well packaged. When I set it up, the inner tray the dog sits on slides back and forth and I was worried he would trap a paw. So I ziptied the tray in place. More concerning were the sharp edges on the lock that felt like unpolished metal or blades. I used a hot glue gun to create a seal around the entire lock and the backing the lock is attached to so he doesn't accidentally get hurt. You also use bolts and long screws to attach the pieces - and I screwed them in inside out so the nut and 1/8 of screw would be facing outside the crate instead of inside where the puppy would be. Again, multiple layers of glue gun. If I hadn't inspected this carefully and thought like a puppy he might have some cuts on him now. Although this crate seems pretty solid and was packed and shipped carefully, you really need to do some work on it yourself. At close to 55lbs for the smallest crate, this would have been impossible for me to ship back. You shouldn't really have to do last minute work on a crate, it should be safe for your pet. So I can't give this solid stars. But with alterations it's ok.
